The pre-1933 $10 Gold Indian Eagle coin is available in Very Fine (VF) condition. This particular issue of the $10 Gold Eagle released by the US Mint in 1908 is the third and last version of its kind. It was widely circulated until 1933 when its production came to a close.

This coin was designed by sculptor Augustus Saint-Gaudens. Designed to symbolize America’s sense of national identity, it features a unique rendition of Lady Liberty wearing a traditional feathered war-bonnet. Its symbolism—a tribute to certain Native American customs in a manner that suggested unity and inclusivity—was considered revolutionary for its time. The coin also features a thirteen-star border representing the original US colonies.

On the reverse side of the coin is the image of a Heraldic eagle perched upon an olive branch and a pile of arrows. This was Saint-Gaudens’ attempt to “modernize” the image of a much older iconic American emblem.

As one of the last of its kind, this Indian Gold Eagle possesses a 90.0% purity, making it an ideal piece as a collectible and an investment. Its size is 0.4838 troy oz makes it suitable for self-storage.
